“A North Las Vegas Charter School got a new playground thanks to the work of more than 350 volunteers. People from Surgical Care Affiliates and the One Hundred Academy of Excellence put together the equipment today. The new playground will provide a place to play for the more than 300 students at the Academy. Playground equipment maker Kaboom created the design based on drawings submitted by students back in March. The volunteers hope it will encourage kids to get out in play. Only 1 in 5 children in the country live within walking distance of a park or playground.”
